The 2022/23 regular season in the NFL has ended, with 14 teams through to the postseason and still in contention for the Vince Lombardi Trophy at Super Bowl LVII.
Here is a look back at the 10 best quarterbacks across the 18 weeks of the regular season.
10. Geno Smith

After Seattle Seahawks traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos in early 2022, Geno Smith was named as the starting quarterback at the franchise.
The former New York Jets QB rewarded head coach Pete Carroll’s confidence in him with a big year. He scored 30 passing touchdowns, the fourth-best total in the league
9. Jared Goff
Former first-overall pick Jared Goff bounced back with a big year for the Detroit Lions. He was able to do that by cutting our errors. The 29-year-old had just seven interceptions across the season. He led his team to a 9-8 winning record, which gives them something to build on in 2023.
8. Kirk Cousins
With 13 wins in the regular season, Kirk Cousins had the best year of his career. He helped the Minnesota Vikings land the NFC North title and reach the playoffs for the first time since 2019.
7. Dak Prescott
Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott injured his thumb in week one against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He returned in week seven, winning 8 of the 11 matches he played from that point.
The Cowboys QB played a big part in his side scoring heavily and qualifying for the playoffs for the second straight season.
6. Trevor Lawrence
The Jacksonville Jaguars looked to have too much ground to make up on the Tennessee Titans at the midway point of the campaign. However, they won five straight matches to end the campaign as the AFC South champions.
Former first overall pick in the NFL Draft, Trevor Lawrence was outstanding across those five wins in what has been a huge step up from his rookie season.
5. Justin Herbert
Only Patrick Mahomes had more passing yards than Justin Herbert in 2022. He threw for 4,739 yards. The Los Angeles Chargers man had a 68.2% complete rate, which was one of the highest in the league. Herbert will be making his first appearance in the playoffs since joining the NFL in 2020.
4. Jalen Hurts
As the number one seed in the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles are likely to be the favorites in the NFL spreads throughout the NFC Championship. They are +500 with Bodog to win the Super Bowl, which would be their first success since 2017.
One of the reasons behind their uplift in form this season has been Jalen Hurts. He has been the driving force behind their impressive offense. If Hurts continues in the same form as he has shown this season, they are going to prove to be a tough team to beat in the postseason.
3. Josh Allen

With 35 passing touchdowns and seven rushing touchdowns, it was another excellent campaign for Josh Allen. He missed just one game as the Buffalo Bills landed the AFC East title again. Allen will get another chance to shine in the postseason as he bids to win his first Super Bowl ring.
2. Joe Burrow
The Cincinnati Bengals, and in particular Joe Burrow, responded well to their Super Bowl defeat to win the AFC North title. Burrow threw 35 passing touchdowns, the highest tally of his career. The former LSU QB has shown he is one of the elite players in his position and he is a future MVP contender.
1. Patrick Mahomes
With the most passing yards (5,250) and touchdowns (41), Mahomes stood above any other quarterback in 2021. It was the most passing yards he has managed in a season, while he has only once bettered his touchdowns tally. The Chiefs landed the number one seed in the AFC and they top the betting to win the Super Bowl at the State Farm Stadium.
All ten of the above players will be in the conversation for many of the awards at the NFL Honors on February 11.
